tires on a c/30 longhorn
just wondering if you guys think it would be ok to run something like a BF goodrich radial T/A on a 1 ton truck, i will be towing a car trailer with a short bed truck on it to the drags. wondering if they will hold up. i was planning on running the same tires i was running on my truck on the street. 285/70-15's on 10 inch wheels and 255.70-15's on 8 inch wheels, that is if i can find 8 lug wheels in 15 inch. Thanks, Devin

Real hard to find 8 lug 15's...illeegal in many states cuz of payloads and 15's not built to hold that much.

I don't think they made 8 lug 15s. I found 16.5 8 lug aluminum wheels at Pomona swap meet for 130.00 for all 4 with centers and lugnuts and worked fine. I have fairly new Continental tires on the truck now, but will switch to BFG's if they make a 16.5 tire.

I've seen them...but only once. The TX state inspection specifies not having 15 inch rims on a 3/4 ton or above.

IK,R? 1T trucks have the wheels and tires that they do for a reason. Hard, thick wheels, big tires. They carry the weight.

Just to clarify, a C30 Longhorn would be a single rear wheel, not duals.... So a different wheel and tire combo. Nice truck. LockDoc
