Help!

Hi guys im new here im in salem oregon and im 17 and just got my first truck and its a 64 fleetside long bed with a 283 and 2 speed powerglide with big window cab. My plans for the truck are to lower it pretty low and i was wondering if you can cut an inch out of the upper and lower A-arms to bring the tires in so i dont hit my tires on the fenders?? Will 86 suburban disc brake spindles bolt right up to my stock A-arms so then i can have disc brakes and so i can have 5 lug. i am putting a 5 lug posi rearend in to. im gonne be running 28 inch high tires. I got to looking and it looked like the tire was going to hit my fender when i turn and i was most likely going to take my inner fender out and just keep the springs mounted in there so i can open and close my hood. for the lowering im going to cut my springs. Will all of this work? thanks, Aaron

Don't go "fiddling around" with the length of your control arms. This is one of those "if you have to ask" type things. You should look into changing the wheel off-set. You have to be careful of clearences there too, tie-rods, control arms, etc.

I doubt (but I'm not sure) that the spindles will work, way too many generations of changes.

Cutting springs will only get you so far. The ride quality suffers the more you cut from them.
