5 lug hub size question

I have some 20" wheels off of a 99 Tahoe that are 5 lug. When I sold the Tahoe I kept the wheels and they have been collecting dust. Just for kicks I bolted them up to my 71 to see what it would look like.

The hub size of the 71 is 3" in diameter.
The center hole on the wheel is 3 3/8.

So they bolt up, there is just a 3/8" gap around the hub... is this a problem? I would think once all the lug nuts are tightened it would center the wheel fine, but just thought I would ask....

any help is appreciated

Go to a wheel shop, they carry an aluminum spacer for that problem. I had the same issue with my toyota when I put hoda rims on it. The spacer just pops in and fills the gap allowing the rims to apply their pressure to the hub and not the lugs.

I am not reccommending a wheel spacer!!! this is just an aluminum ring that makes the hub bigger and is usually sold with aftermarket rims.

Ok, let me wash it first though!! I just walked out to the garage and noticed one of the tires has a nail in it and is going flat as we speak (or type). So I am going to go get that fixed, then wash er up.
