most people dig their trucks out in the spring. I put mine down for a 4 year hibernation yesterday. all that is left is a rolling chassis & that will change as well soon.

I drove mine all winter, and am still driving it. I had planned on having it torn apart in my garage getting ready for bodywork right now, but I blew the engine in my daily driver, so I'm forced to drive my poor truck instead of fix it. I love driving it, but I'd love it that much more if it had a complete set of rockers and a little more floor.

Glad to see the Mutt out dubie, as I know you are. Mine isn't really on winter hibernation, but I had it out today just to run it. Some day she'll be road worthy again!

Hey Mutt! LOL! Tim, with all the strides you have made in your flame techniques, are you going to upgrade Mutt's flames? I ask because when I looked at this pic, the first thing that popped into my head was your other post about the blue flames.

Put 10 bucks of fuel in mine yesterday, drove to my parents (about 30 miles round trip) and to the park today, maybe 10-15 more miles, and now it needs fuel again. I'm glad it's not my daily driver, it's HORRIBLE on gas. The bad thing is I love driving it. I guess I'll just have to win the lottery.

Mines been off the road for nearly a year, after a series of problems, starter motor woes, exhausts falling off and other distractions like starting the renovations to my house in France, fettling my new ('91) Isuzu Trooper 4x4 as a daily driver/workhorse and loads of personal distractions. Now the weather is warming up here I plan to get cracking and get her back on the road. She's gonna need the following:

Starter motor
Two new exhausts from mufflers to the front of rear wheels (may well be done in stainless depending on price)
A full service and lube job
A small amount of welding on cab floor and kick panels
Internal repaint here and there
New sound deadening and carpet set installing
A good clean and airing
rebuilt HEI dizzy installing to replace twinpoint mallory PITA to setup POS
Tuneup
New MoT test (our annual UK government safety inspection)
Sand and re-varnish bed floor boards

This is besides getting the Trooper through its own inspection this month, finishing the work on my UK house, more working visits to France (been twice already this year, spent about five weeks over there so far) yard work etc etc We may also be seling our house in the UK and buying another one, hopefully an old farmhouse with some land and barns etc so maybe I'kll even get enough space for a proper indoors workshop!

Nice to be backhere though!

out of winter hibernation

Mine is officially out of hibernation today. I moved it from the barn or "bear den" to my garage about a week ago and began "waking" it up for the summer. It finally hit the street today and what a great feeling. I managed to play around with it all day and didn't have to fuel it up - life is good!

Took a few shots of it: in the driveway and at a local park.

Mine's still in hibernation until I get home from college at the end of June. Luckily I graduate this summer, so its the last time it'll be in storage for this long!!
