WTB: 56" long leaf springs for towing (9 leaf,3/4+ ton, 2600+lb leafs)
I have an 89 Suburban 1/2 ton 2wd with 56" long leafs. 230,000 miles including 100K of fleet vehicle use have made the stock 5 leaf springs sag a bit, and I can't tow a trailer without the rear end squatting extra low.
I am needing a set of leafs to replace these with that will hopefully sit a little higher (more arch) and be able to handle a car trailer loaded mith my 71 RS/SS 396 Camaro, and an ocasional trans am/gto/LeMans for my dad. Looking at some 9 leafs that are rated at 2600lb load new. Also remember seeing an extended cab duallie in the junkyard with some serious springs in it, although not sure if the length. Any idea of those will fit? I'll call tomorrow and see if they can measure them and see if they still have them. Anyhow, I'll most likely be looking for a good set of leafs that aren't too saggy to use on my suburban. Advice and leads on springs used or new is what I'm looking for. Thanks, Chuck |

The one's on my 76 C30 were the 56" 9 leaves you are looking for I think that they are pretty common. Don't for get to get new U-bolts and shackle bolts, just cut the old ones off. That's just my .02

I have an 87 parts truck outside. I can check it this morning after 9 am and see how many leaves it has. Only problem would be shipping cost from Texas.
