good size wheel and tire for 4x4?

i want to go with 15x10 but my dad thinks 15x8, not sure whats your opinion. It sits stock and has really skinny 16 inchers on it now. i want to go with "Ultra 50/51 series" wheels and "bridgestone dualer" tires...

depends on what size tire, if your going with a 10.5 or 11 inch tire id stay with 15x8, any bigger and id go 15x10 make sure the tire is ATLEAST 31" tall

I have 325/60R15s on 15"x10" rims, no lift. The tires catch the front of the wheel well every now and then. They don't stick out in the back, but they stick out in the front by about 2". Just means I have to wash the truck more often.

1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed.

1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm

I have 35x12.5x16.5 on my 71 with a 6" lift.

I think they might be just a little too big.
when these wear out I'll probably get something just a little smaller not quite as tall. My wife has trouble getting in the truck.

4x4s are a good 2" wider in the front than back from the factory

I'm also running 35"s but mine are 35x12.5x15 with a 6" lift. I think it is a nice size, not too tall. My first k-5 had a 4" lift with 35's. It is hard to tell the difference between the two.

what if i put a 15x8 on the front for the 2 inch deal and 15x10 on the back.. how would that look? with say, 32's?

Keep the same wheel size front and back on a 4X4 otherwise it will drive terrible in four wheel drive and you risk breaking something in the driveline. Even the rim width should be the same size because the circumferance of the same size tire will be different if you put them on different width wheels.

I have 32 by 11.5 on 15X8 rallys on a stock suspension with no rub what so ever. You can probably get away with 33's. (Watch it though, different brands actually measure out different. I have BFG All Terrains.)

33x12.5x15 on my 15x8 rallies. stock ride height, no clearance problems but I wish I had about 2 1/2" lift for looks.

I would like to have the 2.5" lift also for looks. (Not sure how I will sneak that one past the wife.) BTW I read a good article along time ago why the front ends are wider than the back. The reason was these trucks (and some older cars) would steer and handle much better. Seems if you made them the same width the back end had more of a tendency to want to switch places with the front.
