want to trade frames
i have two swb frames, i would like to do some kind of trade with one or both of them for any type of 4x4 frame... i'll take anything from a swb K10, to a K20... doesnt really matter to me, i'll build it to be whatever... i want a frame with all the running gear minus engine... either type of trans is ok also... here is what i have to offer:
1969 swb frame, coil rear.. it has el camino coils on it right now.. i have a set of soft 1/2 ton springs to go with it, or a set of extremely heavy duty 3/4 ton springs... it has a chrome rear diff cover, and supposed 4.11 gears. it is a really nice frame, with no bends, cracks, or rust holes. it comes with a TH350 transmission, the 2 peice shaft that is there now, and a shaft that i am planning to have cut to fit for a one peice... the shocks on it are new. it hugs curves pretty good... it will come rolling on 4 6 lug wheels and tires, but i prefer to keep the set on it now as they are brand new... if the tires on the frame for trade are in like condition, they will stay... it is a power steering frame, the gearbox will stay.. factory v8 frame the other frame is: 1967 swb 2wd frame, coil rear... nice springs, really soft so they would give a nice ride... dunno what kind of gears are in the rear, no shocks on it.. it was just a frame from a parts truck.. it is set up for manual steering, which seems to work ok from moving it around... i believe it had an auto trans in it.. i do know it was a 6 cylinder truck originally please post pictures, and if your wanting one or both frames..., and which your wanting... im located in south central kentucky, glasgow, ky 42141

its a shame your not closer... i need someone somewhat local probably, i dont think my parents would like it to much if they saw me taking apart a running driving truck without a frame sitting here ready for my body to be put on... dont you need a nice week long vacation in southern kentucky?

There you go I put together a running 4X4 with the engine I want & cab I want drive it down there and we work together to swap the parts out and I drive home my short 2wd. Or may be the opposite As I have a full set up her to lift bodies, weld or whatever. I could have a set of rallyes with 30 X 9.50 s on the 4x4 ready to go. Up here we could swap out your cab and engine into the 4x4 SM465 in a week end and you could roll back home.... It wouldn't hurt that I have a pretty good back log of parts on hand. VT Blazer, Thanks for the offer but after you dropped me off I'd probably feel like an orphan. Where in VT are you? |

I really think the distance will be a big issue. I won't complain about the gas prices though we have had it easy for a very long time. I was in Italy in 74 and they were paying almost $2 a gallon then. I really shouldn't have a problem finding a frame alot closer by. Good luck finding one as well...
