in dash gauge install

i wanna replace my stock temp and oil pressure gauges with some sun pro ones, i have everything to plumb them, but i was hopin to install them in the dash in place of the stockers, anyone tried this on a 81-87 truck??

Yes, I did. I think there is maybe one other I know of besides me who has done a full gauge install this way.

I Have Replaced Tghe Fuel Gauge With A 5 In Tach And Remove The Clock With A Phantom 2 In Gauge Both White Everything Else Is Factory With White Stickers The Factory Ones Are Kinda Cheeseie But I Like The Diffrent Look. The Fuel Gauge Was Easy The Tach Was An Sob Had To Gut A Lot Of Plastic Out And Lost The Right Hand Blinker Indicater Small Price To Pay To Look Good And Look Alot Cleaner Than The Tach On The Dash Crape I Had

I am a newby, but I wanted to personally thank Swervin for his detailed instructions for gague installation. I was not quite as adept to be able to do them the way you did and just opted for flush mount, but your instructions were very helpful!

No problem. Glad you found the article helpful. Jeff (73-87.com owner) had a article on his install of surface mounting them.
