man, that is one nice truck!

around here (boondocks of wva), the truck would only bring around 5k

but around here 2wd's arent that high in demand

with those engine specs, i bet that thing gets like 9mpg

honestly man, i would say 6k would be good for it. you just can't get your money back out of these trucks. people ask to buy mine all the time and i tell them 8k and they usually keep on walking. of course its worth whatever you can get someone to pay for it. so put a sign on it and stand on 8k and see what happens.

I agree that it is probably worth alot more then 8,000 $$ but getting that much out of it maybe a little hard. I would list it at that and see what happens, I would say more like 6k-7k but it all really just depends. I would keep it, its a very sweet looking truck.

this has nothing to do with the small problems it has. i may not even sell it for sure, and if i do it wouldnt be till summer or so.
it has to do with me being a poor college guy who cant afford this as a daily driver, and doesnt want to see it sit around never driven either.
there has actually been MANY times recently that i have been invited to do things or go somewhere, but i wasnt able to because i didnt have the money to pay for the gas this thing uses.

When I first met my GF, her dad had just built her this truck:
81 Chev 2wd swb, no rust, two-tone paint (light blue/dark blue) less than a year old
Was a deisel when he bought it, but he put in new crate 350, Edelbrock intake/carb, and all other bits and pieces (new) for the gas engine
New Edelbrock (I think, they weren't cheap!) headers with flowmasters and exhaust
Rebuilt 700R4 converted for gas
New radiator, transmission lines, fuel lines, gas tank
New steelie rims with baby moons (I so wanted to put rallyes on there but he built it?), new tires
Had a new bench seat (which is still in my garage) but she bought a Steelhorse(?) bench seat with a folding console in the middle (almost $1000)
Hard toneau cover (locking) color matched to truck
Billet grill
I put on new lenses all the way around, new headlight bezels, replaced the rear slider with a much nicer oem one (not new)
Lots more!!!

Its a long story but about two years ago he took the truck back and gave her his 2000 s-10 extreme w/28,000 miles and she took over payments (around $8000 residual).
He then sold the truck and I think he got $4200 for it? This is with less than 7,000 miles on a all new drivetrain and lots of new stuff. Even now I kick myself for not buying that truck, but I wanted a Blazer???
I guess the moral is that for someone like us that is into these trucks, it is worth quite a bit, but to joe public, its just another truck.
Set the price your willing to take, and stick to it.
I know this doesn't sound apealing, but find a beater toyota or nissan or whatever for a few hundred bucks to drive to work, school, those places your friends are going that you want to go to.

It may be a different style car...but you can see my battle here. Ive got at least 10,000 in this car (probably well over that).

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEBI%3AIT&rd=1

Basically, people want a perfect car for cheap anymore...hard to sell things right.
