Any diff btwn 2wd and 4wd accelerator cable?
Are they different lenghts between these two type set ups? 2wd to 4wd 71-72 era accelerator cables... as in the cable from gas pedal to carb set ups.

Why yes Rod there is. The 4wd drive one is a shorter lenght to the firewall.

Well here you go....note the top one is from a 72 2wd and the shorter one is from a 4wd 72 both are V eight application from a 4bbl carb.

Well BOB, one of me went and looked at the 72 BB 402 2wd tow unit in the yard and it's on propane but the cable looked the same lenght on it as a 2wd v8 one as pictured above....
Ludwig.... I hear through the voices is into cloning experimentation now, either that or I think I got mad cow disease, or maybe it's Harley fever. |

Maybe the 4wd throttle cables are shorter because 4x4 SBCs were back in the 6 cyl position, probably to clear the front pumpkin/axle under suspension compression?

Accelerator cable
I have a 72 4X4 and it came with the long cable. When installed it loops around and created a circle. No problem it works fine. The truck is all apart now I'm doing a frame up, but when I put the cable back I'll install it just the way it was.

Is 72 the first year for throttle cables, because i have a 69 and it has a rod linkage. can I convert?
