Upper seat belt anchor bolt

Good morning!

Can anyone tell me what year trucks used a 7/16-20 (i think) shouldber bolt for the upper seat belt anchor? I'm wanting to install some s-10 seat belts and the bolts that it has appear to be 7/16-16...

thanks!

If it's an S-10, it is probably a metric bolt. The ones in our trucks would be SAE. Time to go junkyarding... It's beautiful weather here for it.

Just pick you up a new 7/16"x 1" fine thread grade 8 bolt and some large flat washers. I put two flat washers between the cab and the belt and one between the bolt head and belt.. Works great and with the sholder belt bolt covers on no one sees them.

The upper shoulder belt anchor nuts are 7/16-20 threads. The older GM cars used 7/16-20 threads on the anchors but finding good mid 60's anchor bolts may be a problem except for residents of states like yours. You may also want to check out the old Fords as they used the 7/16-20 anchor bolts.

Since the upper ends have to swivel shoulder bolts are the preferred bolts but you may be able to make up a sleeve for a regular bolt if you don't find the shoulder bolts.

Good luck!

Jim

Thanks for all the replies... I went to the yards and was able to find some shoulder bolts 7/16x20 from I believe an early corsica? They are grade 8 hardware and had a real nice spacer that worked out great...
