1996 Extended Cab 3rd door z71, on modified 1985 lwb frame, 454-450 horse, built th400, dodge divorced 205 transfer case(making both driveshafts from it 53") 10 bolt front(about to buy dana 60 frt and dana 70 rear that have all the goodies 5:89's, lockers,etc.) 14 bolt ff w/ disc conversion. Around 16-18 inch lift. 44" Super Swamper Boggers on 16.5 x 14" Weld Super Singles. In the process of flipping the the headlights down to the parking lamp spots and vice versa in the last couple of photos. Many more mods unlisted. Dad and I have been working hard. I am the painter and parts cleaner while dad is the innovator. Thanks go out to my patient mom, for puttin up with me and my dad through another project. If anyone has any questions let me know. More pics to follow, in the last couple of weeks of build up.

Updated Pics - IT is now around 5 inches taller than it was. We have been attaching the crossover steering as well as making the custom shock mounts. Over the past year we had got somewhat burnt out on the project and it sat for awhile. We had to beef up the frame in some parts and that meant taking back off the body. Now everything is ready to go and just those little things left that aren't so bad. Hope to have it driveable in the next 3-4 weeks. Trevor

We just bought I think ... a 10' x 16' door and are getting rid of the 2 smaller doors I think. Don't know if Dad is going to make me help him install that before I get to take this out on the road. Hope not but worth it if I have to. Trevor

what exactly is a divorced t-case and what are the pros and cons on them?by the way nice truck.wish me and my dad did stuff like that the only things we did together was yard work

well the divorce transfer case allows us to allign both driveshafts center. So say I broke my rear driveshaft, I could replace it with the Front one to get me back home. It also helps with Driveline angles instead of having one great big driveshaft in the rear and one small but yet really badly inclined front driveshaft. They call it divorced because it isn't bolted up directly to the transmission. It takes a small driveshaft hooked on to 2wd transmission. Don't know of a lot of cons, I am sure you could twist the driveshaft in between the tranny and transfer case which could be bad. Trevor

Yeah.... for now that will have to do. I won't be playing in the mud for awhile but atleast it will go down the road. We are splitting money right now between this truck and my 70' ss getting finished. You know where I can get a cheaper D60? The question everyone hears. Trevor

nice build up. What's the third coilover type shock on the front for? Looks like a load leveler shock almost. I'm not sure why you would need an another spring up front with those leaf springs...Just curious.

We just had bought those at a swap meet and we are going to paint them to look like those Really Really expensive King shocks. They are just for looks... this truck will be pretty damn stiff. Trevor

Thats kind of what I thought you were doing with it. Now don't take this the wrong way, but I'd ditch them. Your truck looks tough enough without them. Coilovers and leaf springs don't normally go together since the springs both do the same thing, support the wieght of the truck. Having both is redundant. It's your truck and outside of the coil over idea, you've done an awesome job. Its yours to do what ever you want, I'd just thought I'd say something as constructive critism before somebody really hammers you for it.

Now we just need to see some pics of it out slinging mud from the 44's!
