Heads Up ! Chevelle Hedders That DO NOT FIT.
I got a set of Hedman Chevelle Shortys part number 68600 1 5/8" primarys to 3" . These do not fit. they are the Ball Flange Style. They hit the motor mounts both sides and the frame rail passengers side. The motor is in the stock V8 location with new motor mounts.
It worked out pretty good because Dad's Swapping a 350 into his 66 Beaumont and he wanted a Hedders for it. Just Heads up for everyone who is planning on using Chevelle shortys. Mario

Don't get me wrong, I don't doubt that your's don't fit, but i've seen posts on here with pictures of guys with chevelle 3/4 length (shorties) and they fit well with no problems. Could this be that they have to be run from the 6 cylinder position? I'll try to go back through some of my pics and find the ones that use these. ......Jerry

I know the dynomax with 1 1/2primarys fit but they are to small IMO. And now thta I look at the pitcures they are tight and under hard acceleration I think the would be very close to hitting. I want to get the exhaust system to be able to handle any wild small block this truck could see at some point it it's life.

The 6 Cyl position might have helped too. Should have done that. Well what ever the search for 1 5/8 to 3" shortys is on. Sandersons only list 1 1/2 also. Anyone using Block huggers ?

Call Sanderson because they do have 1 5/8 primary headers. I have some.

FYI . . .... small block headers prob vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, so anythings possible (both good & bad). I've got the Sanderson big block chevelle 3/4 length headers on my truck. They have 1 7/8 primaries & 3 or 3.5" collectors (I can't remember which) & w/the engine sitting on factory 68-71 style big block towers, the fit was fine. I will trim about 3/16" from the pass rail @ the inside/top to avoid clearance issues under engine torque/accelleration, but they're currently installed & there were no interference issues.
I know big blocks & small blocks are different. This was just to inform the masses that there are combos that do fit.

Chevelle headers don't fit
I have the same headers and they hit the motor mounts to. They sat right on top of them. I cut and rewelded them and now they fit perfect.

Just want to have the word out that these do not bolt on. I am looking into the sandersons.

I ended buy the ones that were supose to fit according to the manufacturer.......they didnt. I think we chatted about this before. I also remember seeing someone post a complaint about the hookers fit as well. So its not just you and me with the bad luck.
