I just got my rally wheels bead blasted and they are ready for paint.I bought some silver argent wheel paint in spray cans from eastwood.My question is,does anyone have a paint code from a paint mfg.like ppg or dupont? I am not real sure about the spray cans and how long the job will last.If anyone here has used the paint from eastwood,how well has it held up? Any help here will be greatly appreciated.Thanks

There are several different Argent Silvers, but the code I had my wheel paint mixed to was PPG's 8568, which is for the 71 truck grill.

You did not mention it in your post but be sure to use a good primer. Bare sand or bead blasted metal should be primed as soon as posssible. Depending upon conditions rust can form within hours

I have used the Eastwood Argent Silver, the color is right on. Use some clearcoat on them to protect them. Mine have been holding up great. Don't use to much clear or it will lift the paint no matter how long it has dried for.

I have already primed them with epoxy primer so I am good to go. what kind of clear coat did you use over the eastwood silver argent? Thanks again!

A little late now but a metal etching primer first before epoxy primer would have been a good idea.
The etching primer bonds to the bare metal and the epoxy primer will bond to the etching primer...whew

Why not get some Automotive paint with a hardner ? That would be you best option.

I just used any spray can clear coat from a place like Wal-Mart or something. Automotive paint or powdercoat was my first choice but my wallet shut down those options.

I`ve used that Rallye wheel paint from Eastwood also.It looks right and has held up real well.Their detailing paints are very high quality.Don`t use a clearcoat fom WalMart unless it`s a brand-name like Krylon,Rustoleum,etc.Why not order it from Eastwood?

I used the eastwood paint on my old corvette. Sold the car 3 years later and they still looked like new. Didn't use any clear either. Althought it wouldn't hurt to put some on.
