What to do, what to do...

In my current search for a 2WD frame for my panel I met a guy today, and a possible swap has surfaced. This is what he has put on the table. 1968 1/2ton GMC SWB stepside 2wd parts truck with a later bed, 1972 1/2ton GMC 2WD LWB Fleetside runner driver but basicley a parts truck (rusty but sort of fixed), and a 77 3/4 ton LWB Fleetside with a rebuilt 454 /SM465 rusty with lots of new frontend steering gear stuff. What he wants is a 71 Dodge Charger I have which is a runner, driver, and pretty solid to boot. It does need a gut though. So I'm thinking put the 454 into the 68 SWB step using a muncie I have kicking and turn it out to the world, make the 4x4 parts available to whomever and try to work the 72 Chassis under my panel even though it's a leaf rear.

Am I a nut case or what???

I'd say it depends on how much love you got for the Charger. If it is a bonafide solid project car, and you want to build a charger, then I say keep it. I mean you're getting what sounds like 2 parts trucks and an off-year model (sounds like you want to build a 67-72, so 77 would be kinda an off year, you '77 guys don't get your shorts in a wad) And your charger sounds like a daily driver. I vote stay with what you have, at least until something better comes along..............Jerry
