Anyone have any experience with or know anyone using the Tekonsha Prodigy controller? I've read that they are very smooth compared to the typical grab/surge/jerking that most common brake controllers have.

What are you using that you are happy with? All comments are appreciated. Thanks..........

It's a good thing I read this post. I went outside to check what kind of brake controller I have and noticed my rain-train running accross the street! I totally forgot about it!

Anyway, I've been using a Tekonsha Sentinel controller for a few years on my camper towing rig and I am very happy with it. It's very smooth and reliable. If I remember it was one of the more reasonably priced units out there.

toms68, thanks for checking and letting me know what kind your using and that you are happy with it. I haven't heard any bad remarks about Tekonsha yet.

On a side note, just received my roll pan hitch from Early Classic yesterday. Wow, nice looking class IV hitch. (Sorry GMCPaul, I wanted to order from you but with price and shipping, it was about $25 cheaper with early classic. I'll get with you next time I need parts)

Have Tekonsha controllers on all my trucks with good results, no problems and smoothe.

You just made me go outside and look. [it so bad when you have something on your truck that you bought and installed and you don't even know what brand it is] I have a Surepull Powertrac. I like it. It is very small and works much better than any of the old pendelum kind. You can adjust it to where it is very smooth if adjusted for what you are driving in. I have never seen one that you can adjust to have enough brakes in the mountains,and still be smooth on flatland without readjusting. If that is what you mean I want one too.
