55 Dualy, RARE or not?

I came across a '55 3600 dualy flatbed V-8 truck that seems to be in fair shape. I wanted to ask some experts if they are a rare item or common find. The pic is hijacked from another site {chevrolettruckservice.com/} just for an example and is not the truck I'm looking at. Thanks

I know you purist restorers may not like this, but with a little bit of sheet metal work, that truck has potential to be a very cool street truck. No major modifications, just a custom bed and drop a few inches to catch the right stance (I'm not a fan of slammed) would give you one unique and classy truck. My .02

These are not that common. But both the 3800 and 3600 were available in this configuration. 3600s could be had with 17.5" duals while the one tons (3800) could be fit with 19.5" ('57-59) duals.

It looks as though the one in your photo has a factory bed (ridged rub strips on side of the bed -- like this ).

Hey put a short box DUALLY on it from something in the 80's and some new wheels and tires ... and it would be "way cool" my 2 cents worth, rico

Well, I see quite a few 3800 dually trucks (compared to the 3600). Although your variant is pretty unusual; you don't see many NAPCO equipped dually 3800s.
