will 67-72 rearend fit 82 and 87 trucks?
my buddy has a 82 chevy with a 2.73 rearend in it and want to know if a 67-72 leaf rear will fit....also he has a 87 4x4 and want to know the same...if the 67-72 rears will fit the newer truck...i know you need to change the universals...

Spring pad spacing on the older axle will be too narrow, so the pads would have to move. I also believe the pre-'73 axles are a couple of inches narrower. E-brake hookup will be different on the '87 also.
