Found some interesting parts in TX back roads
Went down some old Texas back roads this morning, and found a few interesting pieces sitting around.
A GMC front clip, no clue to the year. And a 67/68 appeared to be complete shortbed in need of some attention. |

We were drving from Austin, to the coast this week and I checked out every farm house side yard I could see from the highway. Saw lots of 67-72 C30s and C40s, but only a few light duty trucks.
Did see one 58-59 sitting on blocks with a flamejob over black paint behind an old gas station. And one 71 or 72 Cheyenne that looked like it has run right through a tree. But the cab and bed looked ok (from the highway - at 75 mph).

You can find old trucks like that in almost every small town here in south Texas. Most of 'em are beat up farm trucks like mine that are sitting in a field on bare rims 'cause the tires rotted off. Obviously mine isn't anymore, I woke it up after about 10 years of sleeping.

Th shortbed is a complete truck, and it'll be a few days before I can get back to it. I'll look for a number next time.
