Mounted my flatbed today

I got it stripped down and mocked it up on the GMC today, its going to be a little high but not to bad. Now I have to take it back off, going to power wash and degrease the chassis, shorten the frame and build a headache rack before bolting it down for good.

Here's whats left of the old bed.

I'm jealous...I still have to bolt my boards down.Got all new rear tail light wiring installed and frame is all ready.Just have to put it together hopefully this weekend....Was thinking of maybe also trying to get small cab dents pulled out and painted so that when I get bed on I won't have to take it off again....

Looks good Blazerman. You must be feeling better. Got that axle home and apart. No problem getting the broken bolts out. Hope to get it back together in a month. Enjoyed meeting you and your son. Thanks for a good deal.

Thanks for all the compliments, still alot to do to it. I'm looking at the new style led marker and tail lights for it and still have to run new wiring for them.
I dont think the camper mirrors are going to do the job. I may go with a set of west coast mirrors like the 2 ton trucks use but I think they only came painted.

Plans are to convert to 4x4 this winter, I have all the parts now except a dually dana 60.

ERL, I'm glad your happy with the axle. And yes I'm feeling much better, in fact I get to go back to work in 2 weeks. I wish I would have had this surgery done long ago, I've gotten more work done in the shop this past week than I did all last year.
