From what iv'e heard most new carpets have some sort of stain guard applied to them all ready but i guess it wouldn't hurt to put more on it.
Im not shure how long it last for....It should say on the can. I just installed a new ACC carpet in my Tahoe a few months ago and i allready had a small soda spill and it beaded up like a fresh wax job and i just threw it in there no extra stain guard applied. Heres a few install tips for ya. Befor you start lay your new carpet out in the driveway if its clean if not lay it in the grass so it will heat up in the sun this will make it flexable and easier to handle. I used a pencil type soldering iron to melt the holes in the floor for the seat belts and seat tracks and any thing else that is mounted to the floor. Good luck. |

Instead of cutting out the holes in the carpet you used a pencil soldering iron to melt the holes? Never thought of doing that. I will be needing new carpet in my truck and will try this when I am ready to install and also laying out in the sun. Thanks for the great idea. Is ACC a good carpet? Is this the carpet Stockinteriors sells?

I haven't changed the carpet in mine yet. But I remember people saying to install the bolts a little bit without the seat installed to find where the carpet needs cut at or melted for the hole.
