5 bucks well spent!!!
Havent been posting for a while due to school, so I figured I'd fire up the 'puter to see whats up.
Started readin' posts, responded to a few and felt that right foot itch comin' on strong. Grabbed my keys and told the wife I was goin' to the Post office (excuse). I fired up Screamin' and let her warm up a bit. Ya gotta love the sound of a healthy V8 especially after drivin 50 miles a day in a Toyota. Dropped her into drive and idled to the corner. Rolled down the window, fired up the stereo, and hammered her. The right rear stopped smokin' at about 40 and 2nd came in with a jolt and a chirp. She never missed a beat. One thing I will say about the 307 is they live up to their 327/283 heritage and SCREAM. They rev like a damn Honda on crack! I backed off at about 110 and felt the adrenaline make me weak. Took it easy on the old girl comin' back into town and cruised her aroud a bit. I don't drink, smoke or do drugs, so this is the closest "high" I get anymore. And at 2.50 a gallon I figure this "trip" cost me about 5 bucks. Do yourselves a favor, go out and fire up your beloved old trucks and take 'em for a spin, you'll thank yourself for it later Last edited by screamin_c102; 05-05-2005 at 10:17 PM. |

My wife's stepside will probably get 2 miles to a gallon when it's finished. 5 bucks will get me to the gas station. Hmmmm, I need to get back home, got 5 bucks that I can borrow?

I was going to say that I'll take an IOU, but that wouldn't make any sense.

SURE, now you tell me!
Just when I get the TH400 on the floor and the 4-speed half way in, THEN you tempt me with a screamin' trip around the block! You boys and girls ought to be ashamed of yourselves! I might just have to take the 409-powered dump truck out and do a wheelie with it just for SPITE! I guess you guys are going to guilt me into finishing this tranny swap aren't you!? 1,000,000 Rpm, 40 Mph!
If I tried to take SCREAMINs route, that's what would happen! ^^^^^^^^^
I forgot to mention it's a '65 C-60 (5-ton), last of the Giddyup 409s! Later, The Rod |

i drove my truck after i finished working on it. it was a cold blooded bastard but coming out of the center lane after she fell flat on her face she livened up at WOT and burnned that poor rear tire into 3rd. so if you take in account the thread loss and gas spent, i think i spent over 5 bucks.
hey randy when is the step going to hit the road???
