To sell or part, that is the question..... (need opinions)
As most of you know, I have a 68 C10 swb stepside. I don't want to get into the "saga of the 68", so I'll spare the irrelevant details.
It has a rebuilt 406 SBC in it, with break in time plus about 100 miles on it. Has a TH350 that needs at least a fluid/filter change. Has a 3.73 open rear, also have a 3.73 posi in the works. Has 4 wheel drums, brakes don't function correctly. The cab has had some work (I think), but the work all looks great from the outside. Everything lines up well, and there's no rot in the cab corners or rockers. The drivers door bottom used to scrape on the rocker a little, but the doors are also out of alignment, so who knows... The front fenders have putty where the "cups" should be. The doors are rough on the bottom, not much in the way of rust, but some BAD patch work by the previous owner. I have a set of rot-free panel truck doors to go with the truck though, all that's needed is a slight window channel modification for these to work on a truck. The right rear fender is rot free, but has a few small dents and is "tweaked" from flying off (don't ask). Looks good on the truck though. The left rear fender is straight and free of rot. The bed sides and bed front are in great shape, no rot. The tailgate is an aftermarket cheapy, has a dent in it, but not too bad. Plywood for a bed floor. Frame is straight and true. Glass is all good, uncut dash, non a/c. Truck had 5 options on the list. #1. Std. Fawn Interior #2. Vermillion Metallic Paint #3. Gauges #4. Heavy rear springs #5. Painted step bumper (gone, sport bumper with "home-made" brackets now The truck runs great, but is a definite fixer-upper. Needs brakes, front end and tires before it can be driven safely on the street. I ran the engine wiring the way it is for about a year as a daily driver, and didn't have problems. But I did have plans to replace it. Parts waiting to be added are as follows: 2 1/2" lowering spindles/6 lug disc brake kit 4" rear lowering springs P/S box (no pump or brackets) P/B booster Autometer Phantom gauges (5" speedo, 3 3/8" oil psi, 2 1/16" water temp, trans temp, volts and vacuum (I think)) No 5" Tach picked out yet. I'll have more details as needed as well, but I would like opinions as to what the truck is worth as a whole, or if I should just part it. I'm tired of looking at it. I can take pics if need be. Thanks everyone,
