Van Column ?
Well, I was starting to go thru my 78 Chevy van tilt column yesterday, to clean it up and ready for install, and found a problem. The turn signal switch is broke where you screw in the turn signal arm. My question is, does anyone know if the 68 thru 72 tilt column repo signal switch work on this.
I've found 78-81 switches OEM, but the prices are a little high. They look the same as our truck ones and could save some money using those...... ![]() steve

Pretty sure the connector is differant. Been looking at pictures of the 68-72 tilt switches, they look identical. I've also emailed GMC Pauls about this. Hope they are the same.......

the only differance that you may have is in the plug, which you can get an adapter if that becomes an issue.

![]() ![]() The wires on the van and truck tilt and straight coloums are the same you just need to pop them out and use the truck plastic plug. The vans use a flat plug and the truck use a 1/2 Moon. Also the turn signal switches are interchangeable between straight and tilt truck and van. The only diffirence is the tilt have a light bulb for the gear indicator. You can remove the bulb socket and put it on your straight coloum switch. If you buy a Tilt switch they hit you up for a few more bucks for the light bulb socket. ![]() Just a bit of info I discovered when rebuilding my van tilt.
