Will new shocks change how my truck rides?
My 86 Stepper still have the original shocks on it..It doesnt bounce up and down continuously over bumps but does ride much like a camel?..very very choppy!..Will new shocks smoothin out the ride any?..its an everyday driver adn I dont carry much weight if any so nothing heavy duty is required. If they would improve the ride does anyone recommend a specific brand?..thanks

YES, shock will help your ride. Thats what they do. Is your truck lowered?

Yup, new shocks will definitely help. Shocks are sometimes worn out, but still pass the "one-bounce" test, particularly on a stiffly sprung vehicle.
I went to the Edelbrock Performer IAS monotube shocks about 4 years ago in the Suburban. I like 'em so much that I put a set in the Jeep last year. They're just awesome- stiffer on smooth surfaces yet soften up on bumps. The biggest improvements are in cornering response and when towing. Do the drop before you buy shocks in case you need shorter shocks.Depending on how much you drop it.

WELL.... your ride will improve, but it depends on the state of your springs.
I changed my shocks, and it helped, but it still bounces and leans really bad. Wandering in the wind is less, but definately still does so. I can't wait to change my poor old springs.
