Hey guys,

How do I get a little bit of surface rust on my chrome pro weld wheels. I guess I'm asking is there anything I can buy to help with the elbow grease.

eagle one makes some sort of wheel polish for this, or maybe it's mothers

Nevr Dull works great! I've used it on my rims and bumper. It really is a good product.

works great!!I use this on my work truck too.Takes all day but it sure looks nice after!!.Mothers Aluminmun polish works great too

Us old guys use SOS pads. Problem is that you have to seal the wheel to keep it from rusting again, no matter what you use. The SOS pad will leave some corrosion inhibitor on the surface.

#0000 steel wool works fairly well...

I agree with stocker.. SOS are ok, but the steel is coarser than the 0000 steel wool and the SOS are SO Soapy. Ultra fine steel wool & some windex works wonders. A god coat of wax after cleaning will help reduce the rust comming back.

I didn`t know about the ketchup part.But`aluminum foil works.The ketcup has some acidity and it`s pastey.

Yep, steel wool works great to remove rust on CHROME wheels. I use some car wash soap and water and start cleanin'

I used steel wool. It took three hours, though, I had some pretty serious rust. Plus, I have 8 lugs, which meant I had to scrub 192 lug nut sides, and 32 lug nut ends. Ugh. A coat of Meguiar's later, and you can comb your hair in my wheels. . . .

No way, I'd remove the wheels and buy new lug nuts first

I've had real good luck with Dupont no.7 rubbing compound and then a good chrome polish.

Wicked Products Chrome Polish. Availible at any Semi Shop. Otherwise Neverdull. Unless you want to use ketchup

or tinfoil

I would say a good chrome polish would work. Another thought would be to use WD-40 and a wool pad, you would have to clean the wheels real good after you where done though.
On Myth Busters they used Alum foil and coke to clean a bumper that worked pretty good.

Steel wool,and wax is what I would use.Lots of elbow grease.I used an electric buffer and polish on my grille,and it worked OK too.
