Question Window Regulators...

I was wondering if my 72 regulators would work in my 69 doors? i was doing my windows and found the 69 regulators are kinda sloppy and make a clicking noise as the spring winds and unwinds. i have 1 peice windows if that makes any difference. just wondering if i need to get new ones or if those will work. thanks
-Ben

72's will work, however the shaft for the crank is a lil longer than 67-71
for the thicker door panels, so it's really a matter of which door panels

You have to use the 72 on both side if you are using the 72 door pannels. If you have not installed them yet smack the rivet tight in the center piviot point. It will help take up some of the slop. You know the window shash the part you smack onto the glass ? You have to cut it and bolt in the aluminum chunk ? well I welded a plate in there insted. It toughned up the shash.

Later,

MArio

i think i am gonna have the windows glued in by a glass shop. I was hitting then with a rubber mallet and they didnt even wanna go in but i was nervous to hit brand new glass with a hammer too hard.
yes ill be using 72 regulators and panels on both sides, the ones in my truck are good but the ones that came in the doors arent

I actually was scared of breaking my window too. I got the drivers in super tough. When I went to do the passengers side I streched the tape to make it easier. Well it's was too loose in the window shash once I installed it into the door.. I think you need to use the setting tape suppled. The Urthain (sp) is aways flexable and that will allow play side to side.
