ampmeter fuses
so i noticed last night that my amp gauge was not moving. checked the fuses and both were blown. i just replaced them 6 months ago. what would cause both to blow. is 6 months the lifespan or is something else going on? was thinking maybe i have a ground poblem somewhere that might affect them

If the fuses blow it probably means that the main feed wire has some resistance in it and the power is trying to feed through the ammeter, (which is fused with small fuses that protect it for this reason). I would suggest checking the main feed wire for old joints and check the terminal connections on the fender).

Where exactly are the fuses? I looked (albiet not hard) once, but didn't see anything. Does anybody have a picture of what the fuseholders look like?

If you look on either side of the radiator on the main harness there should be two little rubber "footballs". The footballs come apart so you can get at the fuses.
If you cannot find them I will be glad to take a pic and post it. Jim |
