67 K10 suspension lift question

What is different about the 67/68 4wd front axle & springs when compared to a 69-72 4wd. I want to remove the rough riding make-shift lift that is on my 67 K10 truck, but most places don't carry a lift for the 67/68. One place said the spring mounts were in different places and the springs were different lengths. I will probably add a 71 or so front axle to get the disc brakes and power steering. Any ideas or suggestions....PLEASE

Front springs are the same.Rears are different. You could use blocks in the rear,or change to newer hangers.

It's not too hard to move the rear spring hangers. Just measure the difference beteween the old and new springs and move the mounts accordingly. Chris

I was planning on using the 4" blocks in the rear. How can I tell if the rear has an add a leaf, since the current block is only 2"? Would I have to move both hangers for each rear spring? Thanks

Yes, you would have to move both spring hangers for each spring as the axle centering pin is dead center on the 67-68, and offest on the 69 and newer. You will only need to do this if you want to center the rear tire in the wheel opening. I opted to have rear springs made but it wasn't cheap.
