question about starter

my starter has worked very well since i installed it in the truck. it wasn't brand new but it was fairly new. it has never given any problems. tonight it started fine when i left work. i drove 70 miles home in the rain then drove through a big puddle very slowly(about the middle of the tires and wheels) parked at my girls house and then about 5 minutes later tried to start it, all i got was a rapid click? any ideas about what could have happened.
thanks
Ryan

Water got in the solinoid, you can pull the starter and put in a new solinoid or if the starter is getting old a rebuilt starter would be the way to go. I have ran alot of starters in the past, now i put in a Powermaster gear reduction starter and it even sounds cool when I start it, bit pricey though.
