blazer tank ?

I put one of the replacement steel blazer tank kits in my blazer. in which I am sure it is a 21 gallon tank. but for some reason everytime I fill it up it only takes 12 gallons? I used the sending unit that came with the tank. I am wondering if the sending unit isnt deep enough, does anyone else have this problem?
thanks
keith

My tank measured approxamately 27"x27" x12" deep mine was for a pick-up,The sending unit is for the gas gauge are you questioning the reading of your gauge?

yes the same tank you put in a pickup is the one i have in my blazer. but when it says it is empty it will only hold 12 gallons when you fill it up. and i know the tank holds more than that so im thinking they gave me the wrong sending unit with it and it doesnt go deep enough in the tank. i was just checking to see if anyone else with the steel blazer tank kit has this problem

I just put s new tank in mine and have had some trouble too. Are you saying that you can't fill the tank all the way full? Cause i have the same problem I'll get about 12-15 gallons in it and the pump will shut off. then if I pulll the nozzle out a bit it wil fill the rest of the way. not sure this helps just my experience.

my blazer tank in my truck when i fill it up the gas gauge only goes to 3/4 full so at empty it only takes that much, does ur gauge go all the way to full?

Are you sure the sending unit is the right ohms? I was using a newer sending unit with my old guage and it was stupid like that. Sometimes it would go way past full. Other times it would just go to half a tank.
