Best old truck driving music???

Thought I'd see what you old truck drivers (that's old trucks, not old drivers) listen to on the road. Growing up in the Detroit area I have traditionally been a rock and roll man, but have found that while driving my old trucks one artist seems to stand out in my play list...Johnny Cash! Am curious to hear what your number one old truck driving albums and songs are. Here's mine...

Album: Essential Johnny Cash
Song: A tie between Jackson and One Piece At A Time (from the album listed above)

Now that I have been living in Alabama for nearly 20 years, I've been dreaming of loading up the '67 or '70 C/10's with Johnny and June and taking a road trip to Jackson, MS!

292 I6 backed by a 3 on the tree through stock exhaust rolling on a back country road with the windows down. I run AM radios or radio deletes, can't hear the damn thing anyway.

Well, I'm not too old. My teenaged son got me into Switchfoot. I listen to them all the time and they are a twenty-something San Diego band of surfer dudes. Really good played loud!

Well, since I have an old post style tapedeck and no antenna, and the only tape I own is Willie Nelson "Red Headed Stranger", then I guess that would be my vote.

How about Alabama, John Conlee, and the Bellamy Brothers. They have always been my favorite.

Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, 38 Special, ZZ Top, Joe Satriani, AC-DC, Guns-n-Roses. That is, if you could hear them over a straight 6 with dual exhaust and little (if any) mufflers.

Now were talkin'! Here are a few that are loaded in my changer right now:

Great White "Hooked" track 3, Cold Hearted Lovin', has a nice beat that syncs nicely with the cam/engine idle.

38 Special pick a track!

Johnny Lee/Greatest Hits

3 Doors Down (gotta support the Mississippi boys!) Seventeen Days

Metallica/Garage Inc. disc 1 track 9, Whiskey in the Jar

And a bunch of other crap that I don't want to be laughed at for admitting to!

I like the oldies station, or country, or classic rock.

I pulled up next to a guy in a new Chevy truck and he had Lionel Richie 'Endless Love' cranked up. To make matters worse, there was no female sitting next to him. Made me chuckle.

Usually Lynyrd Skynyrd or AC/DC, Led Zepplin. Gotta listen to a little bit of rap too but usually just when cruising the drag!!
