85 driveshaft in 71

I put a 85 chevy truck driveshaft in my longbed,did'nt know how it would work but it seems to be real good.I cut the cross member straight down (I had an extra crossmember just in case)and changed the u joint in the back.anyone else do this,it working real good.the driveshaft fit nice and its for a 350 th.no vibration at any speed.

I did the same thing on my 67 when I had the TH350 in it, worked good for me too. I think the shaft I used was out of a 75 tho.

haven't done this yet, but plan to use one. You cut the cross member open at the bottom correct, to get it in / out ?
I was thinking of cutting like that and then making a lower section that would bolt in to tie it back together and act as kind of a driveshaft loop.

had to cut,driveshaft would hit.i think the crossmember could be moved forward.good idea welding a loop.
