Shift handle clearance??
I installed a van tilt in my 67 and used a later model Chevy steering wheel, it has a stock offset lever. Problem is, there is about 1" between the shifter handle and the steering wheel. Anybody else had this problem & how did you fix it?? Are ther different offset handles that can be used? Thanks

There is a difference between the van and our tucks levers. I've been told that our truck tilt shifter handles work on these van tilts. Not completely sure of this though......I'm sure someone on here knows. I would like to know for sure before buying one.

What year did the van tilt come out of? They had at least 2 styles of levers. The early ones are real long and look funny with a late model wheel, while the later ones look right. I have the shorter later one in mine, and I never noticed it feeling too close.

Not sure what year, I got it at a swap meet. The more I look at it I think it has more offset than it should. Greg
