Need help with my '71 C10 horn

The horn was hosed up my the guy who painted the interior. When I got it back it only worked occasionally. He has no clue.
I bought a new horn kit from LMC. I followed their exploded view in the catalog but the horn cup and the spring plate just float around and short out.
I've tried to reorient the parts but still can't get it to work.
Would anyone have a pic or an explanation of where I'm going wrong?
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Yes. I have that piece as well as the horn cup and a spring plate that is slightly concave. I can't seem to figure out the correct postion of each of the pieces.
Thanks Again

Plastic piece goes 1st-legs up.
Metal piece next-dome up.
Cup next--line horn button groove the right way.
Install screws--make sure center of metal piece is not touching shaft nut.
By installing metal piece dome up it's outer circle is setting on the plastic part of steering wheel. When you press on horn button the center of metal piece springs down and touches metal grounding horn.
