What did you get done?
I spent half of yesterday doing yard work, Beyond that all I did was run around Houston repairing video games. I didn't even take time to wash my truck much less work on one.
What did you get done?

Installed the Dumbo mirrors on my 79 Cheyenne, rotated the tires and then washed it. I think this is the first time in 5 years that the truck has been washed with soap and water. Still trying to figure out why it uses oil.

Found out why my 1988 yamaha blaster died, the rings had started to spin and got hung up on the exhaust port, and why the lawnmower engine died, the rod or rod cap broke. Didn't do anything to my truck though....

Finally put a new water pump on the unit (replacing the original) which took about 5 hours since it was the first time I attempted a repair like this. Happy to report that it is running great with no leaks. Just finished cutting the grass and also loaded up the U-Haul for my mom who is moving to Granbury, TX tomorrow.

I changed the oil in my 86 Diesel yesterday. While I was under there I found a loose rear shock bolt and went ahead and changed the shocks (had a pair laying there so why not...). After that I made a dump run and recycled 5 gallons of oil.
Today I changed the oil in my 83 Crew Cab, greased the 25 zirks it has and cleaned it up some. Then I pulled the 84 in and changed the oil, messed with my governor in the tranny a little and cleaned up some wiring under the hood. I have to get rid of my parts truck since I have to make some room for someone else at my shop. Anybody need some parts off an 86 Silverado?

Well not much truck stuff for me.
Friday night I went w/my GF to her parents house for a family birthday party for her niece. I was on call @ work this weekend so @ 6am Sat I got my 1st of several calls. I went in to work until noon or so when the GF decided it was time to go get a new patio table. I left work to drive across town & get the table only to find they didn't have anything close to what they told her they had in inventory. I left there & drove across town again to my buddies shop (Stoked Out) only to find my buddies werent there. I drive home & find the house is @ approx 90° inside w/the a/c running non-stop. For those who haven't watched the weather, we had a record breaking weekend of heat here in DFW (99° both Sat & Sun). I spent the rest of Sat afternoon cleaning the coils of both a/c compressors. Sat night my GF's niece/nephew came over to go swimming so it was yard duty to prepare for the kids. Today I spent cleaning up the pool area, rinsing the deck & doing misc yard stuff. Then I had orders to dismantle the 'swing' that was by the pool to make room for a new one. Just as I was finishing up the tear-down, the phone rang & it was m GF w/the news that some people from her nieces official 'kids' b-day party were coming over to go swimming (so much for the poolside clean-up ). Towards the middle of the day as the heat was @ it's worst, I found my attempt @ a/c maintenance was not enough as the house was getting much warmer & there was ice forming on the reefer lines from the compressor again. Hopefully it's not too expensive of a repair. At least the kids had some fun . . .... how about you?

I got up early Saturday and got rid of a street ornament 88 Chevy pickup and got a 90 mark VII SE Garage queen to take it's place. Returned home to mow in the heat of the day, sweated gallons, and went to dinner with friends.
Today, I layed around until about 2, then checked out a motorcycle show. My buddy's bike took best in class again this weekend, second weekend in a row. It's nice to see something you have worked on win an award.

Mostly did yard work and stuff related on Saturday. Took my '79 to the carwash and was finally able to tell it was yellow and not a gray muddy brown. Got to figure out why my oil won't read on the dipstick though. Today was chores and my little brother and I went up to my dads for dinner and to hang out for awhile. Went and helped him and his girlfriend work on her mid 70's Cutless Supreme that she has been neglecting. Got it running well enough to get it home.

Friday night my buddy and I pulled the core support, fenders, hood, and headers off the '87 prepping it for motor and tranny extraction.
Saturday I was the best man for my buddies wedding (same guy that helped me the night before... lol) Then in the evening I went for a ride in another friend's new '03 Evo. They are some impressive little cars I must say! Sunday I just sorta hung out with the family a little bit, and went swimming with the nephew and neices.

After 10 years of having the door close on my leg while getting out, I finally put in a new spring to keep the door open
Also put on chrome exhaust tips.

Got the SMC valve assemblies put together for the 83 and mowed the yard, other than that it was too damn hot to be outside.

1. Finished and installed my center console for my truck.
2. Waxed truck. 3. Fixed my son's KX80 (dirtbike). The stator went bad, so I had to pull the old one and the stator plate, solder the new stator in place. Works great. 4. Fixed my Seadoo, thought the stator went out on this also, but turned out that a wire came off of the coil. I found this out after I orderd a $200.00 stator. |

I spent the weekend putting a ceiling in my shop. I did take time out to go and practice with #2 son's softball team. Still have to finish in the shop and install new high output 8' lights. The other lights didn't like to come on in the cold.

I got the PW to work on the new doors I installed. I also put some new speakers in the dash while I had it apart, thanks to my cutting tool.

I had a productive weekend for once. Maybe its because it was longer by a whole day
Suburban: - junked the roofrack & siliconed the holes - junked the rear headliner - added 1L of trans fluid ( ) - shuffled the tires around for less bald ones - 33's on the back now - tidied the under-dash wiring so I my feet don't get tangled up when I drive Ford: - picked up & installed a free bedliner House: - took a load of scrap/rotting wood to the dump - installed a light, switch, and a GFCI plug in the bathroom - scraped off the 'popcorn' textured ceiling in the dining room.

sat i helped my father in law pull the well pump to see why we had low pressure. So out came 70' of pipe and the pump only to find out it was leaking at the above ground pipe. While he was in town getting parts, me and the wife went to town looking for stuff for my daughters new princess room.. came home, went to work for a few hours,, returned home to work on the pump until about midnights..
Sun, worked 7am-5pm, then we to a wedding reception for a friend of my wifes that she hasnt seen since highschool.. open bar and girls in nice dresses was the only good thing.. they had good chicken and steak, didnt bother trying the caviear. ( I am sure i butchered the spelling...but oh well)
