Hi from NW Arkansas
Well, I've been a member for about a month, and I'm now just getting around to introducing myself. I started driving my dad's 67 GMC truck when I was about 10, and I've loved 'em ever since! I now have an '88 Suburban that is the best family hauler I've ever seen. It has 165,000 miles on it, and is in great shape. It's also just right for me and my father-in-law to play around with, as the picture below suggests. Look forward to browsing around the site and picking some of your brains when I get stuck on something
John (Yes, that's a dual intake, but there really aren't any Edelbrock components on there - yet!) |

Big Bad John
Hey John,
I bought my '66 Nova from a guy named Big John right down the road from you in Jacksonville AR (LRAFB) in '94. Was that you? His motto was "A Walking Mans Best Friend", the sticker is still on the trunklid. Probably no shortage of Big Johns down there. Take care and welcome aboard, Hot Rod

Yes, there are plenty of Big Johns in this area, but I've lived in Fayetteville since '94 and I've never owned a Nova...

I saw that SassyChevyGirl is from North Central AR... I learned to drive on that year model GMC pickup (ours was blue-green, with a bit of rust). The 67-72 GMC's are my favorites!

Yup ... in the beautiful Ozark Mountains!
I love my truck... Ive almost parted with it a time or two (kinda makes me ill when I see it all crunched up) but Ive decided to keep it. I too have a suburban (my tank!..LOL) to haul the kids around. Mines an 86 4x4 and its been in our family 9 years now. No way I could part with that either. That seems to be the problem around our house .. we buy a truck .. and before ya know it .. its FAMILY and well ya just cant sell family ..LOL Would love to see more pics of your burban if ya got some. See ya around the board! |
