I just picked up a used Holley 600 with electric choke. Between the choke and carb body there is a red plastic cam thingy mounted on the butterfly shaft. It doesn't appear to be connected to anything but will hold the throttle partially open when lifted. Works like a cam on a mechanical choke. I don't see anywhere that it should be connected to the choke . Am I missing a spring or something?

thats a fast idle cam and there should be a adjusting screw on the bottom and is kinda hard to see and get to

I can see the screw and some notches on the cam but what controls the cam's movement? It just flops around.

It's connected to the windings in the choke bell. It will move freely when the choke is off.

Thanks... I guess I got a bad choke. It just moves all the time. Took the choke off and the idle cam just turns on the shaft.

when the choke is cold theres a lever off the back of the choke housing that controls the fast idle cam , when choke is hot the cam will flop around - what keeps it from going to a fast idle when the choke is hot is the weight of the cam itself . hope this helps

I think I see how it is supposed to work but what moves the cam so the screw will touch the cam step when cold? Maybe I'm missing a lever. I took it off for pics. Does everything look right? Thanks
