who makes these headers, my friend loaned them to me and i wanted to know which ones they are before i bought them

It's pretty hard to guess the brand of a header with just a picture. I'm not a big fan of how they don't have nice flange across the head...

Look at the other header thread to get some more opinions too...

I am getting my used headers I got off of e-bay sandblasted and will be painting them with POR20. They "say" this stuff will not come off. Put on one coat wait 24 hours then put on 2nd coat wait 24 hours then install. They tell me the heat from the engine will bake the paint on. But if you had a big oven somewhere that would be even better. As ELGracho said, it is almost impossible to tell form these pictures. To me, most look the same. The ones I have, I also do not know who made them. Did you have to do anything with the alternater and Air to get these to go on. I think my '86 and your '82 should be about the same. If you do have air that is. If you like the headers, then buy them. Makes no difference who make them. (my openion)

we had to cut a piece off one of the a/c mounts to slip around one of the tubes,use a spacer and an old exhaust manifold bolt on where the first one goes, and as far as i remember, that's all, i should remember more because we put them on wednesday so i could fire up my new engine.

Thanks for the info. The guy who I "was" going to install them told me I had to buy all new hardward for air and alternator. Sounds like he does not know what he is talking about.

The flanges tend to warp when the tubes are welded. Thats why people cut the flanges or remove some of them. Gives you a better seal and the bolts will stay tight. I have been cutting mine for years and I never have problems with loose bolts or leaks.
