Camaro Front Clip- Power or Manual Box?
This question is for the guys who have or have had a 55-59 Truck with a Camaro subframe installed. I am at the point of installing the steering box, but I am wondering if anybody out there has any comments/suggestions on whether to use a power or manual steering box. My truck is extremely low and will have a small wheel/tire combo on the front, so it won't need much effort to turn. I like the clean look of not having a power steering pump, but if it's going to make it a handful at slow speeds, then I'll put the power box in it. What are you guys running?

I'd hazard a guess that pretty much everybody who runs a Camaro/Nova clip will be running power steering. You might look into using a p/s box(if the fit is the same) without lines and see how it shakes out. If you like the way it drives, you can find a manual box for it and swap it out. (keep in mind the p/s box will probably be a noticeably quicker ratio) If you think it takes too much muscle to turn, you can just install the pump and hoses. The reason for this approach would be that a p/s steering box for a Camaro is likely to be easier to find cheap than a manual one.
