Repaint vent windows or get chrome ?

Vent windows on my '70 have most of the paint gone on frame and window on outside, surface rust present. They need new rubber anyway. If I take apart and repaint will it last ? or should I just find a set with good chrome and rebuild those, not considering looks or cost so much right now, but what do you think would be better ? Thanks.

I'm repainting mine also and rebuilding them. I guess it depends on what you want for the $. Chrome was nice, but more than what I was willing to shell out right now for mine.

Guess I'm leaning towards repainting the originals one. Any tips on how to prep and what to paint with ? Can rattle can do a good job? Gloss level of black ? What did the factory put on there, it doesn't seem to last as well as the body paint ? Thanks.
