i have heard of a few locally that are having problems. basically the dealers wont come down on their price since they have the impression that those with the rebates are sticklers. This is coming from a guy i know whos a car salesman locally.
Best way to handle it is tell them "I'll pay X amount for this vehicle after this rebate and yours, if you cant work with me then theres other dealers that will." This is how i talked them down from $18,400 on our Pathfinder to $14K... be a stickler, be adamant and keep saying out loud "These guys dont want our business lets get up and leave now while theres still daylight."
Its amazing what happens when you use the car salesman attitude back on them.

Hell just go to www.KBB.com and look up the "INVOICE" price for the new vehicle you're looking for, make sure you include the destination charge as that must be paid for by the buyer.

Then simply tell them you will only pay $100 over invoice price !
( don't listen to their sob stories of how are we going to keep the lights on bull****)

I used to sell cars and trust me it works.........
