Gas Gauge Problem
I know this has been addressed in the past, but i couldn't find it, so. My gas gauge is reading too full. On the last tank, it read waay past full, and when it just got to E i was almost out. Usually it goes a little past E. On this tank, i've put around 50 miles on it, and the needle has barely moved.
So my basic question is: Is the ground bad or is the gauge headed south? Or even worse, is it something on the sending unit? Thanks in advance, cliff

on my 76 when i fill it up it goes about 1/4 tank past F then i can tell it runs on fumes as soon as it starts to touch the E... i just never worried much about it, just keep track of miles or fill it up at 1/4 tank each time....

Yeah, if your sending unit is fried, I've got a spare one sitting up here that you can have for 10 bucks + shipping. Worked perfectly in my GMC. GMC had one of the bigger tanks that was available on these trucks. I am not sure if there is a difference despite length.
