Bench seat brackets

Are the bench seat brackets different in a 1968 than they would be on a 1972? I have a newly recovered bench seat from a 1972 Cheyenne Super and I was trying to use the same brackets that are in my 1968 and they wouldn't line up on the seat. The 1972 seat did not come with any brackets. Any advice is appreciated.

The 68 brackets are definitely different. You will need to use the 69-72 style brackets.
