temp gauge

I have a new sensor in, but for some reason my temp gauge (85 blazer) likes to go all out of whack...usually I can tap it a few times and it will read correctly, but do I need a new gauge to stop this?

It might be a lose wire on the sensor. Mine did the same for a while and I had to put a new end on it.
