few maintenance ???

1- If I want ot change rear differential/gear housing fluid, how can I do that?. I know there is a drain/ check plug. Simply open the drain plug and fill it from the top? Do I need any pressure pump or something like that?
2- What kind of fluid should I use?
3- I have 3 on the tree, How can I (or should I) change the tranny fluid? I believe it has been ignored for veeerrryyy long time. Again, do I ned any pressure pump/compressor?
4- Is there anyother simple maintenance I can (should do) on tranny?
5- What Kind of fluid for this one?

The rear end will not have a drain plug so the cover will have to be pulled. There is a filler plug on the side and a pump is needed to put 3 1/2 pints of 90 wt. gear lube back in it.

More thabn likely the transmission does not have a drain plug, so sucking the oil out will be needed. 90 wt. gear lube is also used in the 3 spd. tranny and a pump used to fill it.

Thanks for reply but now another question came to my mind which may sound stupid!. If I have to fill these whith a pump, does the check plug or whatever plug it is act as an one way valve or just just have unsrew the plug and pump it in? In this case how i put the plug back without making a mess? Do you undretand what I mean? I am not sure I made sense!.

Not a one-way valve. You will put the cover back on and fill the rear through the fill hole. I did mine without a pump. I didn't have a problem with spillage or anything. Also, if you think your tranny has been neglected for so long you should change the filter at the same time. You might consider changing plugs and wires, too. Good luck.

I didn't use a pump when I did mine. I'm sure it is easier that way but all I did was cut the tip off the bottle and turn is sideways and squeeze. I did that until the oil began to come out. If you go slow enough you can fill it to when it just starts coming out then quickly put the plug back in without making to much a mess. There is no valve in the fill plug holes.

When I changed my 3 speed oil there was no drainplug. Some stupid PO put ATF in there there and it was leaking out everywhere on the side and it smelled horrible. I ordered new gaskets and pulled the side cover and let the oil drain out. Then I reached in with some rags and got out as much as I could (I'd say I got about 95%). Installed the gaskets, some o-rings, and bolted everything back up. I used 80-90w gear oil on the rear and tranny because thats what the manual called for. There are no more leaks and the tranny is quieter now.

I went throug about 5 or 6 quarts of gear oil between the rear and tranny.

The three speed manual can be mostly drained by removing the bottom bolt that holds the tail housing. Tranny and rear diff don't need a pump to fill, you can squeeze it in from the bottles the grease comes in, a short peice of rubber hose might help.

Another thing, it isn't a bad idea to spray a can or two of brake clean into the rear when you have the cover off. It'll rinse everything off, and you can wipe it all out. You'll be able to get more of the metal particles out if you do this.
Also, if you can swing the $$, synthetic gear lube is the best thing you can do on both the tranny and diff.

FYI
when changing the fluid in you rear end or tranny be sure to wear clothes that you wont mind throwing away. I got some of the rear fluid on my pant leg the stain nor the smell never did come out. Belive me the stuff reaks!!!

The rear wasn't as bad as the trans for me though. Burnt to s**t ATF smells like ....I don't know how to describe it .

I use a pump to pump out fluids. This works well on differentials and also in my boat where its impossible to get a pan under the oil pan. It is made to pump out through the dipstick tube.

Thanks for all these good info. Now, I am a little concern about tranny. How hard is it to take the side cover off? I mean is there any kind of adjusment neede when I bolted back up again?or just remove the side bolts off? I didn't see any other bolt at the bottom of tranny therefore if I don't want to take the cover off how am I suppose to drain the oil? I posted some pics.
One other thing, how hard is to fix this oil likage on pic #3? Thanks

looks like it is coming out of your speedo cable, try RTV

Another question about rear gears housing. Is there any gasket under the cover? I looked at some auto part web site and I didn't see any gasket for this rear end years. Should i just use RTV? Now that we are at it, what kind of rear end is this?

there may or may not be a gasket, I alwaus use RTV...there is a brand called The Right Stuff...and it is awsome. Expensive, but it is what all other RTV should be.
You have the eaton/corperate rear...HO52.
