Post Number ONE

Hi guys! I thought it was about time I join in the fun here on the board. I have been lurking about the boards for awhile now just soaking in all the great info.

The 67-72 trucks happen to be my personal favorites and who doesn't need a few toys. My ride is a 70 1/2ton Suburban. It is a Cali truck and was born and lived most of its life there. The PO did most of the work you see in the pics. He did what I would consider a ok job on the paint and interior. When funds allow I want to redo most of it. As it sits I think it looks pretty decent and I have a ball driving around in it. I'm in the process of getting full seatbelts into it for family cruising. I also ordered a 3"/4" drop with new shocks and sway bars (backordered argh!!).

I also have a complete, but somewhat rusty 72 Suburban for parts. In the near future the 5 lug frt disc and rear will be swapped into the 70. The current rear is a very tall gear (3,000 rpm @ 55+/-) and it needs to go. Hiding in the corner of my garage is a 454 out of a 76 truck I might just throw in.

I hope to be here awhile and gather knowledge (and parts) as often as I can.

Later,
Aaron

It is not all that bad. The doors, fenders, rear hatch and gate are all very decent. The tub has cancer in most the usual places. I started with this burb having grand plans but felt in the long run it was going to be alot of work. Then I came across the 70 and shazzzam, 72 parts burb.

Man, that's parts burb is sweet. I noticed another hatch layin' on the floor next to it too... Welcome to the board from Southern NJ... Quite a few nice fella's in the OH area. As a matter of fact, my 72 C10 Burb came from OH board member "Cheesewagon". The 70' Burb looks like a puff. We need interior pics!!! The Imp is nice too. Always liked them. I had a Caprice wagon I was gonna play with but she's gone now

As requested some interior pics.

P.S. the extra hatch in the picture was the original one on the parts burb and it was swiss cheese.

Thanks for all the welcomes.

Seems like the parts burb is getting alot of attention. It was a runner when I got it. I took the non-original 350/350 combo out of it to swap with the 454/400 combo from a 76 3/4T truck. Now I just need to put the 454 to good use. In the future I will be scrounging for BB accessories. I will probably start with the BB tower search.

Will the 72 BB towers bolt to a 70 frame? I like the 72 motor mounts better.
Are the 72 towers hard to come by? Also would the SB towers work?

Maybe these questions are for another thread.

Later,
Aaron
