68 clip question

I have a 69 GMC and like the lines of the 68 much better. Cleaner hood and does not have the chrome eyebrows on the fenders. Will both chevy and GMC hood and fenders from a 68 work oon the 69?

From what I know the hood and fenders are the same on 67-68 chevy's and 67-72 GMC's. If you look in the catalogs the part #'s are normally the same. The only thing that changes are the trim and emblem mounting holes.

Well...

Well,... I dont have alot of GMC experience. But, I know the 67-68 radiator supports are different than the 69-72. It might be due to the headlight placement. So, that won't change, provided the GMC headlight placement doesn't change 67-68 to 69-72 (i don't know GMC's) but, I seem to remember someone saying a 67-68 hood won't close over a 69-72 support. I don't see how this would be. nor have I ever experienced this. Just something thrown in to keep an ear out for.
Also,... 67-68 chevy fenders are the same as 67-72 GMC fenders. I actually have a 71 GMC fender on my 68 Chevy... had some holes to weld up (eyebrow trim & GMC fender emblem) but everything is same...
Just my .02cents worth...

The fenders and hood will work BUT you will need the grill top bar from a 67-68 GMC to replace the chrome top bar that is on a 69-72 GMC. They are riveted in place.

The hood latch is also different, in the front a 67-68 GMC hood latch is flat and a 69-72 steps up (hard to explain unless you are looking at them).

In one picture of the white 67-68 GMC you can see the top bar painted black. In the pic with the green 70 GMC you can see the end of the chrome top bar. The Chrome top bar will NOT work with the 67-68 hood! but if you look at the 70 fender it is the same as a 67-68 Chevy, so all the GMC fenders are the same (except the 67 doesn't have side markers...)
