Having a fuel delivery problem
I noticed lately that I can't leave the truck running for very long while it's idling without it dying. It also dies if you give it to much throttle or try to take off from a dead stop. The truck sat for abut three weeks while I finished up the brake lines. I tried to take it to work on Friday but I couldn't get it out of the driveway (about 300 feet). I am running an Edelbrock 1406 or 1405 (the manual choke one) and a 350 auto.

Sounds like your float bowls are adjusted too low.

Sounds like the accelerator pump is shot. Although it should still idle if thats the case. If it was flooding it would run better with more throttle. If its not getting enough gas to idle, it shouldn't even run with part throttle.
Oh wait, might be the fuel pump and not the carb. Pick up a cheap pressure/vacuum gage and check the fuel pump pressure. It should be able to hold 4 or 5 psi with no problem. HG

It was running a lot better before I did the disc brake conversion and had to park it for 3 weeks. Is the carb flooding or what?

It might just be a coincidence, but is there any chance you pinched the fuel line doing your conversion?

I think I got it going now. I remember hitting the fuel line when I put the sway bar on. I had to grind off the rivets on the crossmember to install the sway bar bracket. I was prying on the crossmember to put the bolt on and not paying attention to what I was pulling against. OOPS! I looked at the now dropping fuel line and reached for the screwdriver to tighten it up again. I got the leak stopped but I must have dislodged something inside the line. Looks like it's gone now after spending about $5 in gas. Whatever was in the line is blown through now.
