2 inch lift on a 1/2 with coils, got pixs
did a 2 inch with alluminum spring seats on the front and 2 inches of plate on the frame side on the rear. I have found that the upper ball joints and shocks are near the limit and the rear shocks are almost fully exended

The plate needed longer bolts, works fine. As for the ride, ya it seems to be a bit smoother, maybe due to the higher center of grav.

lift
with your upper A-arm near ther limit you can use the AIM industries of fab-tech upper control arm for the 73-up 2-wd lift kits. both of them are slightly longer and have a bend in them to gain more clearance and downward travel. the ball joint angle is also adjusted to not bind in the in the lifted position.

I've seen those, there about $300 a set and you need to convert to 73 and up control arm shafts

I tried that yrs ago when I didn't know any better. The arm became brittle and cracked. I'll go with the aftermarket arms later on.
